Calling all Hunter artists and writers! Tapestry, Hunter's Scifi/Fantasy Magazine, is compiling a Bestiary of mythical, fantastical and science fictional creatures for our Winter 2011 issue. We want YOU to submit your art or writing to be featured in the magazine, and potentially win one of two $15 Barnes & Noble gift cards!
We're accepting art and writing centered on any mythical, fantastical or science-fictional creature, whether it's a creature of your own creation or one inspired by other worlds, myths, fairy tales or novels. Brownie points for submitting lesser-known creatures!
Writing: Writing should be 500 words or less, and can be any form--poetry, prose, a satirical description--involving or from the point of view of your creature. Have fun with it, and email to huntertapestry@gmail.com when you're done!
Art: Art can be any medium that we can print. We will print in color! Email to huntertapestry@gmail.com or hand to Dr. Loonam or the Tapestry staff, and know that the final will be reduced to 8.5x5.5.

3. Stay tuned for a new link to service opportunities on the HCHS website!
THE NEW TRASH-CANS
Wondering what the new trash cans in the hallways are? They're bins meant for - and only for - crumple-able plastics like candy wrappers and plastic bags. Please do not throw other trash, including hard plastics, metals, food, papers, etc. into them.
Placed in the hallways by Eco-Bricks, we hope to start a growing project of recycling previously non-recyclable plastics in homemade furniture - the first to do so in the entire country, at Hunter.
Please, be conscientious. Take the extra moment to verify that the trash you're throwing into the Eco-Bricks trash cans belongs there. We cannot make a change without your cooperation. Thank you!
Submissions due Thursday, January 5th.
PLEASE NOTE THAT NO H.O.W. BROADCAST FOR THE WEEKEND OF 24-25 DECEMBER.
